This dashboard allows users to explore the economic benefits and costs of
lake restoration measures across Danish lakes.
Select a lake on the map to view estimated willingness-to-pay (WTP) benefits,
compare restoration methods, and calculate the net present value (NPV)
of different restoration scenarios.
Data on lake conditions is based on based on Martinsen & Sand-Jensen (2022) and
the Danish Agency for Green Transition and Aquatic Environment (2025).
Data on restoration costs largely follow the Vejledning om tilskud til kommunale projekter til
restaurering af søer under vandområdeplanerne 2021-2027. The benefit estimates are based on a spatially explicit stated choice experiment conducted in 2025 and 2026. A working paper can be provided on request (kcu@ifro.ku.dk).
